- A leak suggests that pixel 10 could only be Esim
- Change can only be applied to the US.
- It’s something Apple has done since 2022
Now we are well accustomed to Google Pixel 10 Fugs (the launch of these smartphones is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20, but the last one in Emerger is a bit out of the ordinary, and suggests that these phones could come without SIM physical trays and trust ESIMS.
The rumor comes from the Evan Blass, generally reliable, although it seems that he has collected it from another source. Apparently, Pixel 10 Pro Fold will be the only phone in the range in which you can place a physical sim card.
That would mean that Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL would be the first Google phones that will trust ESIMS exclusively. However, Blass adds that this information can only be applied to the models sold in the US.
The future is Esim
📲Tipster informs that the P10, P10P and P10PXL will leave the physical sim in favor of two active Esim slots; Only the P10PF will admit hardware sim.August 8, 2025
While it would be a surprise if the Pixel 10 range turned out to be just ESIM, it would not have come out of nowhere: you may remember that there were rumors that Google would do this for some of the Pixel 8 models in 2023.
In addition, it is something that Apple has done in the US.
ESIM technology has certainly become much simpler and more reliable in recent years, and in many ways it is more convenient than using physical sims. It also means that more space is released within the phone chassis for other components.
We only have a week and a half to wait for the official presentation and see what Google will do, and of course we will bring the news as it is announced. Based on rumors, these phones may not be a great improvement,
