- Roku has launched two new home resistant security cameras
- The largest of the two has a battery life of up to two years with a single load.

The Roku transmission specialist has released a couple of new wireless security cameras that can send video images directly to your phone or television, allowing you to watch your patio without leaving the couch.
The Roku battery chamber can work for up to six months with a single load, while the plus battery camera works up to two years. Both cameras are climate resistant, and can be configured indoors or in a few seconds.
You can use the Roku Smart Home application or Roku Web View to customize your camera configuration, configure schedules and receive notifications. Chambers can also be used as movement detectors to activate some of the best smart lights or other connected devices.
Flashes and you will lose it
The battery life of the real world will depend on the configurations you choose and the weather (lithium -ion batteries tend to drain faster in cold conditions), but the more battery chamber must be a serious rival for the outdoor flicker 4, which also works up to two years before it needs to recharge.
Both the outdoor 4 battery chamber and Roku, plus a 1080p resolution with movement detection and notifications, but the Roku camera also offers night vision of color instead of black and white, which could give it the advantage over the flickering model if the price is correct.
It can also extend the battery life of the Roku cameras even more connecting an optional solar panel, something that is not possible with the flashing camera.
Roku has not yet announced the official price for the two cameras, but says they will be available “in the coming months.” We hope to try both of us so that we can see if they deserve a place in our summary of the best home security cameras to ensure their smart home.
