- Nikon Rumors says that Nikon ZR without a mirror will arrive later in 2025
- Nikon acquired red in April 2024
- From the acquisition, Red has launched Z-Mount versions of two of its cameras
Nikon could be working in a video -oriented mirror camera that incorporates red technology, at least that is according to a new rumor.
Nikon Rumors published a story that affirms that the next camera that will launch Nikon will be a Z Model Model with features and technology cinema -centered reds. The story suggests that it could even be called Nikon ZR or Nikon Zr, the ‘R’ in the name possibly a wink to red technology on board.
Other statements in history are that the camera will have a brick-shaped design, without a pentaprismo or an electronic viewfinder, and will be seen as a cross between the Sony FX3, Nikon Z30 and the block appearance of existing red cameras such as the komodo or v-raptor.
He also states that the camera will have the same sensor as the excellent Nikon Z6 III (a partially stacked full -stacked photogram sensor of 24.5MP, then) and a ‘very large’ LCD screen. Most mirror cameras have 3 -inch screens, so we believe this suggests that a 4 -inch or even 5 -inch screen is in sight.
Nikon is now firmly in red
Red, originally founded in the United States in 2007 as Cinema Digital Red, was acquired by Nikon in April 2024 for $ 85 million. Since then, he has launched versions of the Komodo and V-Rptor with the Nikon Z-Mount, but it is expected that for a long time they arise more narrow collaborations of the association.
Following the Red Purchase, Nikon President Muneaki Tokunari told Nippon.com: “Nikon Corp. aims to expand its market share for cameras using the video technologies of a company of American movies acquired in spring.” The rumored Nikon ZR could be the first completely new camera to come with these technologies.
Nikon Rumors believes that the camera will be officially announced later in 2025, most likely in the third or fourth quarter. We will keep our eyes wide open for more clues than was rumored that Nikon Zr could bring to the table.
