- Now bar is a new key feature in an UI 7
- According to reports, more third -party application integrations are on their way
- A UI 7 is aimed at older phones next month
Samsung launched an UI 7 (its version of Android 15) at the same time as the flagships of the Galaxy S25 in January, and one of the new key features is the block of the lock screen now, a feature that must be much more useful in the near future.
According to the outlet et news from South Korea (through Sammobile), more third -party applications are being configured to admit the bar now, although there is no specific time frame for integration. Two applications of South Korea are specifically mentioned, Kakao T to book Naver taxi and Sports Walks for live sports scores.
Presumably, those efforts to add more third -party applications will be extended internationally, although ET news does not annul any other. The more applications the bar admits now, the more useful it becomes, which means that more users will take advantage of it.
Samsung has been pressing the bar now as an important innovation in an UI 7, and we have also described it as one of the best software features. It is essentially the Samsung version of live activities in iOS, which shows useful information of applications directly on the blocking screen, which can be updated in real time.
Using the bar now
If you have a Samsung Galaxy S25, it already has an UI 7, and the bar is now already appears at the bottom of its lock screen, showing widgets for timers, the now brief summary, the reproduction of media and more.
Go to configuration and choose Blocking screen and Aod To find the Now bar page. You will see that you can establish which applications appear in the bar now from here: currently, the list is dominated by Samsung and Google Apps, so the integrations of third -party applications would be welcome in the future.
Google Maps is an application that recently added the bar support now, so you can see instructions to turn on the blockage screen. Android already offers persistent notifications for this type of information in real time, but the bar now makes it easier to reach a blocked phone.
We are still waiting for an UI 7 to reach Samsung phones beyond the Galaxy S25 series, although the deployment is scheduled to start next month. It is not clear at this time how recent it is a phone that will need to take advantage of the function of now bar, but we should obtain some clarity about it soon.
