Ben Christman, an offensive line of university football that was transferred to UNLV, was found dead in his apartment outside the campus, school said in a statement on Wednesday. I was 21 years old.
Christman recently transferred to university after playing previously for Kentucky and Ohio State. The school said he had no more details about his death, and the Forensic Office of Clark County in Nevada was working to determine the cause.

“The heart of our team is broken when listening to Ben’s death,” said UNLV chief coach Dan Mullen, in a statement. “From the day Ben stepped on our campus a month ago, he made the rebels a better program. Ben was an easy choice for our leadership committee, since he had won immediate respect, admiration and friendship of all his teammates.
“Our prayers are with his family and all who knew him. Ben made a better place and we’ll miss him.”

The president of the school, Keith E. Whitfield, said he was “incredibly sad” when he heard about Christman’s death.
“There is little that can be said that the pain of losing suddenly to a member of our university family at such an early age, and my heart breaks for all who knew and loved him decreases,” he said. “On behalf of UNLV, our most sincere condolences are with the family, friends, loved ones and teammates from Ben during this very difficult time.”

Christman was in the state of Ohio for two seasons before transferring to Kentucky. He sat the 2023 season with a knee injury and played special equipment in 2024, according to CBS Sports.
Christman was from Akron, Ohio, and played high school football in Revere High School. It was a four -star recruit that came out of high school.
