North Waziristan:
A Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa cabinet member has said that the district administration began investigating a mysterious strike in a house in Mir Ali Tehsil that killed four children and caused a protest by local tribes.
According to local sources, five people, including a woman, were also injured in the incident that was supposedly caused by ammunition fallen by a quadruple in a house in the Hormus village of Mir Ali.
The ages of deceased children ranged from eight years to only two months.
The locals hurried to the wounded to Mir Ali Tehsil hospital, where it is also said that some of the injured are in critical condition. The incident has caused a wave of anger and pain, with residents organizing a protest sitting in Mir Ali Chowk since Sunday.
The demonstration has attracted tribal elders, youth and children. Protesters hold banners and banners that carry slogans such as “Let’s live”.
Minister Nek Muhamad firmly condemned the incident in a statement issued on social networks.
“The blood of innocent children will not go in vain. This is a crime against humanity. We will raise our voice in each forum and do everything possible to take those responsible to justice,” he said.
