Few Hollywood stars carry the weight of cultural expectation such as Leonardo DiCaprio. Every time it enters a new project, the attention it calls is both the story on the screen and what the movie could say about the moment we live. His last collaboration with Paul Thomas Anderson is no exception.
For Leonardo DiCaprio, explaining the synopsis for his new action thriller movie “One Battle Acther” is not an easy task.
“I think it is probably because it is something complex to articulate, but in the heart, I think the film has a lot to do with humanity. It is a lot to do with polarization in the world in which we live, extremism at both extremes,” the Titanic The actor said.
The film follows Bob Ferguson, played by DiCaprio, and his wife Perfidia Beverly Hills, played by the Taylor singer Taylor. They are a loving but tense couple who embarks on the daring humanitarian missions in modern America.
“It is not a film where people impose any political belief to anyone else,” said DiCaprio. “It is a satire at both extremes. It is a great movie to go out in today’s world. I think it’s important.”
In the movie, perfidy suddenly disappears shortly after giving birth. Bob changes his identity and leaves the network to raise his son as a single father. When an enemy resurfaces after 16 years for revenge, Bob must work to rescue his kidnapped daughter. The writer and director Paul Thomas Anderson is known for his distinctive style in films such as Licorice pizza, there will be blood and Boogie nights.
According to DiCaprio, Anderson has “incredible flexibility” and can change complete sequences based on an actor’s suggestion. “It does not mean that I take all your ideas, because it certainly not,” said DiCaprio. “He has a great Bs detector. But when you say that good idea, I mean, the whole course of the film can change.”
