An opposition matches alliance, including Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI), has announced a two-day conference of all parties (APC) that will be held in Islamabad on July 31 and August 1, said Express News.

The announcement was held at a joint press conference by Tehreek-E-Tahaffuz-E-Aen Pakistan (TTAP) and high-ranking opposition figures in Islamabad, including the head of TTAP, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, the leader of PTI SALMAN AKRAM RAJA, Babar Awan, Barríster Saif, Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar and others.

Achakzai declared that this was the first political alliance not formed at instances. “This is not a theater for political entertainment. Our alliance will continue until the establishment of a neutral electoral commission, the supremacy of the Constitution and the restoration of parliamentary sovereignty,” he said.

He criticized the formation of the current government, claiming that it was imposed through fear and manipulation. “The party that won the general elections was imprisoned to its leader. The verdicts of May 9 gave 10 years even minors. This is not justice; this is the mockery of a democratic state,” he added.

Achakzai, who is also head of the Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami party, promised to campaign against the “street to street and city city”, extending the Gilgit-Baltistan movement to Gwadar.

He asked for a peaceful protest movement and said that the next APC would also invite representatives of state institutions. “We will support all oppressed groups in the country without any condition,” he said.

The president of Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen (MWM), Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, echoed similar concerns, questioning the legitimacy of recent political decisions, particularly those with respect to the reserved seats. “If democracy existed in Pakistan, the failure in the reserved seats would not have arrived. The holidays that welcome such seats are like those consumed by carrion, it is not ethical,” he said.

He criticized military operations in Baluchistan, saying that they had not been able to contribute stability. “The use of force has never been successful. It is always the people who win at the end,” he said.

Senator Abbas warned that any attempt to block peaceful protests would be the government’s responsibility. An important protest is also planned under the tehreek-e-tahaffuz-e-Ain (Constitution protection movement) for August 5.

In addition, Raja said that the movement was aimed at directing the country in the right direction and restoring constitutional democracy. “This country cannot be crossed by coercion. Our movement is constitutional, ideological and peaceful,” he said. “No one should try to use our protest badly to justify the repression of the State.”

He claimed that PTI supporters were being punished only by their political affiliation. “Today, walking down the street or raising the voice has become a crime. These are the rights recognized by the Constitution, the United Nations and our religion,” he said.

The opposition alliance promised to continue its movement through constitutional and peaceful means, stating that any repression would only strengthen its resolution. The next APC is expected to establish the course for a political strategy coordinated in the party lines.
