Pacifier The actor of season 2 Jennifer Holland has opened her process to interpret two versions of the same character in the successful HBO Max program.
Speaking to Techradar, Holland, who plays Emilia Harcourt in the DC (DCU) universe, had the task of portraying two iterations as part of the plot of this season. And, apart from some key differences that make each Harcourt feel unique, Holland admits that portraying two versions of the same character was not as defiant as he was afraid for the first time. Complete spoilers immediately follow season 2 episode 3So come back now if you haven’t seen it yet.
Pacifier‘The last chapter, entitled’ Another Rick Up My Sleeve ‘, finally presents us with Harcourt 2, also known as the version that exists in the parallel world that the homonymous antihero, the real name Chris Smith, discovers at the premiere of this season.
Before the final credits of episode 1, Smith, finds out that this parallel dimension not only houses another Harcourt (that is, Harcourt 2), but also had come out with his alternative being through a photograph framed in the latter’s room. However, before everything can be prosecuted, the pacifier of this universe ambush it, there is a fight, and Smith involuntarily kills its multiverse doppelgenger.
Before completely eliminating the body of its multiverse variant in season 2 Chapter 2, Smith slides your parallel phone. Through a series of photos and videos on that device, he soon realizes that Harcourt 2 acts and sounds completely different from Harcourt 1 as well.
After Harcourt 1 reject their romantic advances once again in his own universe, a drunken Smith travels again to the parallel world, with episode 2 that ended with him by sending text messages to Harcourt 2, which responds before the screen is cut to Black.
With the Smith part of the last episode of the television series of chapter one of DCU that takes place mainly in the alternative dimension, it does not spend much time before we meet Harcourt 2, and, according to the videos and images we saw on the Peacemaker 2 phone, she is exactly what we expected. Warm, attractive, occasionally fun and, most importantly, externally concerned about the well -being of Smith and emotionally available, it seems to be all that Harcourt 1 is not.
Well, on the surface, anyway. Holland told me that it was vital that there were clear similarities between Harcourts 1 and 2, as his physical appearance, so he was responsible for playing both versions. For each iteration to be as different as possible, then, the Holland approach to elaborate Harcourt 2 came through the education and personality of the latter. Ah, and a funny nickname that Holland and Pacifier The writer/director (and the husband of Holland) James Gunn occurred to them to refer to Harcourt 2 as.
“For a while, we refer to Harcourt 2 as the thirst for thirst,” says Holland with a smile. “She [Harcourt 2] He was really injured by him [Smith 2]But sometimes he doesn’t help herself. He carries his heart in his sleeve and communicates his emotions, sometimes a bit too much, so he seems quite needy.
“But, it is different from Harcourt 1, whose relationship with Chris is very complicated: it is much more complex than the dynamics between Harcourt 2 and Chris Smith that used to exist in this parallel world,” Holland continued. “The way I approached them was … I wanted them to feel like the same person with the same genetic composition, but they are individuals who had different childhood and paths through life. Harcourt 1 has a lot of trauma that we have not yet explored completely. Harcourt 2 has nothing like that, so how does a person change through that ‘nature versus the need’ debate?
Pacifier The episodes of season 2 1 to 3 are already available at HBO Max and other transmission platforms worldwide. New weekly air chapters.
