The Pakistan Navy continuously detected and monitored an Indian P-8i maritime surveillance plane when it approached Pakistan’s maritime limits during the night between May 4 and 5, official sources confirmed on Tuesday.

The plane was observed along its flight route, underlining the operational surveillance and technical preparation of the Navy.

According to officials, swift detection demonstrates advanced strength surveillance capabilities and the firm resolution of safeguarding Pakistan maritime interests.

“Pakistan’s Navy remains completely prepared to counteract any hostile action with all strength and efficiency,” said the source, reiterating the preparation of the sea 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to defend the borders of the national sea against external threats.

The Indian P-8i plane is used for long-range maritime and anti-submarine patrol operations. Previously it has been close to sensitive regions in the Arabic sea amid high regional tensions.
