- The AI Assistant of Philips EU is now being implemented for iOS users in Benelux
- If you live elsewhere, you can use VPN to try it early
- The assistant allows you to make custom lighting scenes with voice commands
The new Philips AI assistant is beginning to be implemented now, allowing you to create custom lighting scenes to establish a mood with a natural language.
It means (the company behind Philips Hue) revealed that it was working on an AI tool for its intelligent lights in CES 2025 in January, and promised that the new assistant would facilitate the creation of “personalized lighting scenes based on mood, occasion or style.”
The company now has the ball rolling with an initial launch in the Benelux countries, but if you live elsewhere, you can move through the geographical restriction using one of the best VPN to relocate practically in Belgium, Luxembourg or the Netherlands.
Do it personal
Fabian on Hueblog.com, based in Germany, managed to make the assistant working using a VPN to change his IP address to one of the compatible countries and change his language environment to English.
With that, he was able to use simple voice commands to search for existing lighting scenes or create new ones. That will be music for the ears of anyone who has struggled to track seasonal lighting schemes for their best smart lights at Christmas or Halloween, or does not want to spend time moving to the prejections to find something suitable at the moment.
The only inconvenience is that, for the moment, the assistant of AI seems to be exclusive to iOS. Despite trying the same for the three Benelux countries, I could not access the Android tool, and a Hueblog reader based in Belgium reported the same problem.
However, the HE AI wizard has just started launching, and I hope that Android owners do not stay in the dark for a long time. I will bring you more news about your availability in the coming weeks.
