*Chomp chomp* Hori’s Piranha Plant camera for Nintendo Switch 2 seems to have had its price reduced forever. I saw that the Piranha Plant Camera is only $39.99 (was $59.99) on Amazon US, and only £26.38 (was £33.99) on Amazon UK. That’s a pretty significant savings!
Specifically, that means the Piranha Plant Camera has seen a 33% reduction in the US and a 22% discount in the UK. And this does not seem to be temporary. These new prices are not listed as ‘sales’ on Amazon, but simply as the new standard costs.
I’ve listed some purchase links for US and UK buyers below, but you can scroll down a little further to find out more about the Piranha Plant camera and whether you would consider it worth purchasing. Come on, let’s take a look…
Today’s Best Hori Piranha Plant Camera Prices
In my Hori Piranha Plant Camera for Nintendo Switch 2 review, I made my thoughts very clear about this Nintendo-licensed product.
Yes, it’s an adorable accessory and I actually have one too, mainly because it looks brilliant next to my extensive Amiibo collection. But in terms of performance, it could certainly be better. It can frame your face well for GameChat and games like Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TVBut that’s where the good news ends.
Look, this thing has a pretty archaic 480p resolution, which means your face won’t look very clear on the screen. For anyone who’s played with a Nintendo DSi or 3DS camera, that’s the kind of quality we’re talking about…
Still, Piranha Plant’s camera certainly serves its purpose (just don’t sit too far from it, things get blurry). Priced seemingly new at under $40 / £25, it’s a functional option for those on a budget, and does They have their advantages, such as a secure stand and a privacy shutter.
Is it worth buying? Well, that really depends.
If you have some games that use the camera, such as Mario Kart Worldthe Switch 2 edition of Mario’s Party Jamboreeand even Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tourcould open up a slightly more interactive game, especially online. I also don’t see any reason why Mario superfans couldn’t just buy it to show Piranha Plant some love. In my opinion, he’s a top-notch villain.
But as I mentioned in my article about the usefulness of Nintendo Switch 2 cameras in general, I think many players can live without one for the moment. This is mainly because there aren’t many titles that support the accessory yet… but who knows what the future holds. Come on Nintendo, bring it back Facial Assailants.
Anyway, will you be purchasing the Piranha Plant Switch 2 Camera at its new reduced price? I’d be interested to hear from you, let me know in the comments!
