Rawalpindi:
The Citizens Action Committee has expressed a strong dissatisfaction, so it called an “not serious” response from the Prime Minister’s portal (PMDU) with respect to his complaint.
President Zahid Ahmed Awan said government officials usually ignore public complaints and do not pay attention to the portal.
On August 31, Awan had filed a complaint through the Prime Minister’s portal demanding that the historic Liaquat Bagh in Rawalpindi be restored to his original state as a woman and children’s park instead of being used as a garbage site.
In his application, he declared that the bad smell and pollution of the garbage dump severely affected the adjacent towns of Arya Mohalla, Liaquat Road, Moti Mahal, government offices, mosques and educational institutions.
However, after 25 days, the RWMC MD responded only with a brief note, saying: “We are cleaning with limited resources and old machinery, a cleaning impulse is also ongoing and the cooperation of citizens is needed.”
According to Awan, this answer was “completely irrelevant” and could not address the central problem. He added that it was unfortunate that government officials often responded with “relief granted” without even reading complaints.
“If this is the condition of complaints about the portal of the Prime Minister, what can be expected about the daily problems of common citizens?” He commented.
