Peshawar:
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s principal health minister, Ehtesham Ali, Provincial Minister of Public Health Engineering, Pakhtoon Yar Khan, and main secretary, Shahab Ali Shah, jointly opened the campaign against the province of Wide-Polio through the administration of policies to children at the Police Services Hospital, Peshawar.
The campaign, which will officially begin on April 21, will cover five days and aims to vaccinate more than 6,537 million children under five years throughout the province.
For the easy execution of the unit, 35,460 teams of trained polio workers have been formed, while around 50,000 security personnel will be deployed to guarantee the safety of the equipment.
Speaking in the launch event, the main political and administrative leadership of the province reaffirmed its strong commitment to eradicate poliovirus of the region. They emphasized that the government would continue to carry out anti-political campaigns to ensure that each child is protected from this paralyzing disease.
The health advisor highlighted the role of government machinery, the Department of Health and the agencies of application of the law in the collective effort to eliminate polyomyelitis. Emphasizing the importance of vaccination, he said that the Department of Health is improving the immunization system to protect children from polyomyelitis and 12 other preventable diseases.
He urged parents to all segments of society to cooperate completely with first -line health workers who visit homes during the campaign and to ensure that their children receive polio drops for a healthy future.
The main secretary, in his comments, emphasized the proactive measures of the government to overcome the challenges and ensure that each child under five receives polyomyelitis falls to prevent life disability. He asked the media to play a vital role in raising awareness at the community level about the importance of polyomyelitis vaccination and other immunization programs.
Praising the important efforts and sacrifices of first -line health workers and security personnel, Shahab Ali Shah referred to them as national heroes.
“The consistent campaigns, well organized and successful in the province would not have been possible without their dedication,” he said.
