Islamabad:
President Asif Zardari has signed the Finance Law 2025, giving effect to the budget for fiscal year 2025-26 on Tuesday, July 1, according to a notification of the Gazette issued here.
According to the notification dated June 29, the 2025 Finance Law received the assent from the president on June 27. On Thursday, the National Assembly approved the budget of RS17.6 billion rupees together with RS463 billion new taxes.
The Chamber approved the second budget of the Government of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif with a comfortable majority. During a vote in a clause, the coalition government gathered the support of 201 members against 57 votes of opposition parties.
