The president recovers well, says the doctor

Karachi:

President Asif Ali Zardari’s personal doctor, Dr. Ti Hussain, said on Saturday that the president is recovering well and is expected to be discharged from the hospital within a day or two.

Going to a press conference at the Ziauddin hospital in Clifton, Karachi, Dr. Hussain refuted the reports strongly circulated in the Indian news channels and social networks regarding the president’s health, calling the “managed” images and the “completely unfounded” news.

“I’m sorry to say that false and misleading information about the president’s condition is being disseminated by Indian media and certain social media accounts,” said Dr. Hussain.

The doctor revealed that President Zardari had traveled from Islamabad to Nawabshah last weekend, while returning to Karachi.

“I received a call from the Eid Day saying that it felt bad. [health] facilities there were limited. On Monday, we transferred the president to Karachi and we admit it to the hospital to [medical] Tests, “he explained.

Subsequently, medical tests confirmed that President Zardari had contracted COVID-19.

“Now the president feels much better. He will be relieved of the hospital tomorrow or day later,” said Dr. Hussain, adding that he is under the care of a senior medical team.

The president’s personal doctor said that COVID-19 was still present in Pakistan, but now they had access to effective antiviral medications. “Despite what political opponents say, and regardless of the hostile position of India, the content manufactured in social networks does not reflect reality.”

Dr. Hussain also revealed that the president deals with blood pressure problems and diabetes.

“If President Zardari launches his video of the hospital is a political decision. The videos that circulate on social networks are completely false,” said the doctor.
