- The iPhone SE 4 could cost less than $500
- The price will vary between countries.
- A slight price increase is likely compared to the iPhone SE 3
While we patiently wait for the iPhone SE 4 to appear (March 2025 seems likely as a release window), we just received more information about a potential price, information that lines up perfectly with previous rumors.
According to well-known tipster yeux1122 (via @Jukanlosreve), the price will be less than $500 in the United States. That would be a 16% to 17% increase over the current model’s starting price, and it’s a price prediction we’ve heard before.
TechRadar’s iPhone SE (2022) review will tell you that the third-generation version of this phone started at $429 / £419 / AU$719, although it’s not unreasonable to expect some sort of price fluctuation if its successor arrives three years later .
And that’s for the 64GB model – the new iPhone SE 4 will likely start with 128GB of internal storage. An iPhone SE (2022) with 128GB of internal storage costs $479 / £469 / AU$799, which is perhaps a fairer comparison to the latest price leak and would mean a much smaller price increase.
A modern iPhone SE
Of course, as always, international currency conversion rates will play an important role. The same tipster predicts a starting price in South Korea of over 800,000 won, substantially more than the current starting price of 650,000 won.
That is, you may end up paying more or less for the iPhone SE 4 depending on the country you live in and your current financial situation. Clearly, Apple will do everything it can to keep prices low, with this being the affordable iPhone option.
It looks like this will be the first iPhone SE with a modern look (with Face ID instead of Touch ID and a home button) and the next phone is rumored to closely follow the iPhone 14 design starting in 2022.
It has also been suggested that the phone will come with an Apple-made chip for Wi-Fi and 5G, something that yeux1122 supports in this latest leak. That should mean the phone costs Apple less, with another own-brand piece inside, but we’ll have to wait and see if those savings are passed on to consumers.
