Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged the interim government Afghan to immediately control terrorist organizations and ensure that Afghan soil is not used for any form of terrorism, Express News reported Sunday.
According to a statement from the Office of the Prime Minister in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz spoke with journalists in London, sharing that his recent visit to Belarus was fruitful.
The prime minister said that Pakistan is blessed with vast mineral resources and that he visited a factory in Belarus that manufactures mining equipment. He expressed the hope of better cooperation in this sector as well.
He announced that an understanding with Belarus has been reached to provide job opportunities for 150,000 qualified Pakistani young people, stating that the selection process will be carried out exclusively by merit.
In Afghanistan, the prime minister reiterated that it is a neighboring and fraternal country, and that both nations must strive to live as good neighbors instead of feeding the conflict.
He said that Pakistan has repeatedly transmitted to the Afghan interim government that, according to Doha’s agreement, the Afghan soil should not be used for terrorist activities. Unfortunately, he added, groups such as TTP, ISKP and others continue to operate from Afghanistan and have carried out mortal attacks against innocent Pakistani.
He stressed that the sacrifices made by the citizens of Pakistan, the Armed Forces, the Police and other agencies of application of the law in the fight against terrorism will not be in vain.
Offering sincere advice to Afghan leadership, he urged them to act quickly against these terrorist groups and make sure that Afghanistan is not used as the basis for attacks against others.
Regarding the convention abroad, the prime minister said he has officially begun and is an important and historical event. He welcomed the Pakistani abroad at home, praising their contributions to the country. He pointed out that they work tirelessly to raise the global image of Pakistan and send billions of dollars in remittances every year.
Prime Minister Shehbaz also shared that Pakistani remittances abroad have increased significantly this year. He said the convention presents an excellent opportunity to interact with them, listen to their legitimate demands and respond quickly whenever possible.
