President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had urged the nation to forge unity while the country dealt with the threat of terrorism and extremism, emphasizing the need to support each other and contribute to Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.
The main leadership of the country congratulated the Nation for the auspicious occasion that Eidul Fitr was observed throughout the country on Monday (today) and urged the masses to continue the virtues of piety, patience and sacrifice learned during Ramazan in their daily lives.
On the auspicious occasion of Eidul Fitr, I extend my sincere greetings to the entire Pakistani nation, “Shehbaz said in his Eid message.” This day teaches us joy, gratitude, brotherhood and compassion, “he added.
“We should continue the lesson of piety, patience and sacrifice that we received during the sacred month of Ramazan in our lives and adhere to Islamic principles.” That Almighty Allah makes him part of our lives, “he added.
The prime minister warned that the country faced threats of internal and external enemies, since it fought the war against terrorists. He expressed solidarity with the families of the martyrs. He also prayed for the highest ranks of the martyrs of the tragedy of Jaffar Express.
“Today, Pakistan faces threats of internal and external enemies. Therefore, we must avoid all kinds of extremism, hate and sectarianism and unite for the integrity and stability of the country. We must not let any conspiracy succeed,” said Prime Minister.
“Pakistan is going through a war against terrorists and our army officers and soldiers are sacrificing their lives to restore peace and order in this country. Today, we pray through the highest ranges of all those martyrs and express solidarity with their families,” he added.
“Today we also pray for the martyrs of the tragedy of Jaffar Express, which Allah increases their ranks. We share the pain of their survivors. We must also remember our oppressed brothers who are victims of oppression and barbarism,” he emphasized.
Shehbaz reminded the nation to strengthen the economy, society and national unity was everyone’s common responsibility, and added that the government was making strenuous efforts for the country’s economic rebirth, the establishment of peace and social stability.
“We should unite and lead our country on the path of development and prosperity,” SHEHBAZ Prime Minister urged. “Apello to the nation to share EID’s joys with their brothers, family and needed and needy neighbors and play a role in the creation of a welfare society.”
On the occasion, Shehbaz reaffirmed the solidarity of Pakistan with the oppressed people of Palestine and the Jammu and Kashmir occupied (Iiojk). He appealed to the international community to stop human rights violations and relieve innocent Muslims.
Separately, President Zardari extended sincere happiness to the entire nation and the Muslim world, urging the nation to remember those who faced economic difficulties such as true happiness lies in sharing joys with others.
“We should actively fulfill our obligations from Zakat, Charity and Fitrana so that no person in need is deprived of EID Happiness,” said the president in his EID message. “We must promote the brotherhood between us so that our country emerges as a strong and prosperous nation.”
The president declared that Eid came after the blessings, the worship and the journey of piety during the sacred month of Ramazan, and added that Eidul Fitr was a gift of almighty Allah, “granted as a reward for fasting.”
During Ramazan, said the president, the faithful struggled to reach the proximity to Allah, refine their characters and excel in the events of goodness. “This sacred month teaches us patience, resistance, worship and compassion for the poor,” said Zardari.
“Now, it is our responsibility to follow these lessons in our daily lives that were learned during Ramazan and defend the virtues of sincerity, honesty and love in our practical lives,” added the president.
He noted that EID’s day also taught them the lesson of unity and solidarity between their ranks and emphasized that the masses should strengthen these ties, support each other and contribute to Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.
On the occasion, the president also prayed for the people of Iiojk to obtain the freedom and the opportunity to celebrate EID in peace. The president prayed Allah Almighty to accept his fasts and worship and guide Pakistan in the path of peace and prosperity.
