Khanewal:
A railway employee was killed and a woman traveling injured after a section of the pedestrian bridge collapsed at the Khanewal train station on Friday.
The bridge segment collapsed in the early hours of the morning. An employee of the station lost his life in the incident, while a woman suffered a broken leg.
Rescue operations were immediately completed, and reconstruction work will begin today. Train traffic continues to follow the routine, confirmed the PR.
The Federal Railroad Minister Hanif Abbasi has taken an immediate notice of the incident and has suspended three officials for negligence.
