Islamabad:
Iranian President, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, arrived on Saturday at a two -day state visit to make bilateral conversations with Pakistani leadership.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Vice Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Muhammad Ishaq Dar, and the Minister of Information and Broading Attaullah Tarar received the Iranian President and his delegation at the Nur Khan Air Base.
Dr. Pezeshkian is accompanied by a high -level delegation, including Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi, the upper ministers and other high -ranking officials.
Dr. Pezeshkian will meet with President Asif Ali Zardari and will also hold conversations at the delegation level with Pakistani Prime Minister and his cabinet ministers.
A greeting of 21 cannons was awarded in honor of President Dr. Pezeshkian upon his arrival, and two children dressed in traditional attire, Ramos presented him.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement said: “This marks the first official visit of Dr. Pezeshkian to Pakistan as president of Iran.”
It can be remembered that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited Iran for the last time on May 26, 2025.
The visit is expected to strengthen fraternal relationships between Pakistan and Iran.
Upon arrival in Lahore before, Dr. Pezeshkian received a warm welcome by Punjab Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz, and the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N), Nawaz Sharif. His visit was marked by a high -level meeting and a visit to the mausoleum of Allama Iqbal.
Defense ministers
The honorable Minister of Defense of the Islamic Republic of Iran, General Aziz Nasir-Zadeh, held a bilateral meeting with the honorable Minister of Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif in Islamabad.
During the meeting, both parties discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional security, anti -terrorism efforts and roads to improve defense cooperation between the two neighboring countries.
The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen bilateral ties and promote peace and stability in the region.
Pakistan’s defense minister expressed his appreciation for Iran’s continuous commitment and emphasized the importance of defense diplomacy to address shared security challenges.
Iranian defense minister thanked Pakistan’s government for the warm welcome and reiterated Iran’s desire to build stronger defense ties based on mutual respect, shared values and trust.
The meeting concluded in a positive note, with both leaders expressing optimism about the future of Pakistan-Iran’s defense relations and the understanding of continuing to work together for the prosperity and security of the region.
