The cousin of King Charles has affirmed that Meghan Markle is “completely incorrect” for calling himself Sussex.
In his last Netflix series, With love, Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex has caused a debate by insisting that “I am a Sussex now”, during her conversation with Mindy Kaling. Meghan, wife of Prince Harry, explained that she shares a last name with her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Now, Lord Ivar Mountbattan, a distant relative of King Charles, does not agree with Meghan’s claim.
Talking with Town & Country, He said: “His children are called Archie and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor; they are not called Archie and Lilibet Sussex because Sussex is a title.”
“Then, they are the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex, but in reality he is Harry Mountbatten-Windsor and she would be Meghan Mountbatten-Windsor,” added Lord Ivar, who starred in the third season of traitors.
He continued explaining: “My brother is the Marquis of Milford Haven, but his last name is Mountbatten, so it is called George Mountbatten, the Marquis of Milford Haven. When I read, it was an article about her new program, and she said that her family name is Sussex.”
Moveover, Lord Ivar also revealed that if he had seen Meghan Markle’s new program in Netflix, With love, Meghan.
“I might be interested in seeing it; I might not last long.”
