Venus Williams’ return to tennis The Court is in full swing.
Only weeks after becoming the oldest woman to win a singles game from Martina Navratilova in 2004, Williams will have the opportunity to make even more history in the Us open After winning a wild card invitation.

The 45 -year -old Tennis Gran enters the Great Slam of the calendar year as the oldest individual competitor since 1981, a milestone previously established by Renee Richards, who was 47 years old. There is also two years after his last appearance in New York, where he left after a loss of first round.

Williams began his return last month when he competed in the Open DC. She defeated her American partner Peyton Stearns in right sets to advance to the second round, winning her first game 16 months after her last professional competence.
“It’s not easy to get out after all that time and play the perfect game and all WTA players are playing incredible. Peyton played very well. I felt that I was trying to stop. We were going faster, faster and faster,” Williams said after the 6-3 victory, 6-4.

“It’s just about putting everything together. You can still play a good game and lose the game. I wanted to play a good game and win the game. It is very rewarding to return after dismissal and injuries, and you know, I didn’t have to play again.”
He went to compete at the Cincinnati Open last week by another cupcase invitation, leaving after a first round defeat.

In addition to its singles entrance, Williams will also compete in mixed doubles with Reilly Opelka at the end of this month.
