Apple iPhones are not known for being cheap, and will certainly pay a premium if you want to buy one. Unfortunately, there are suggestions that we could see a price increase when the iPhone 17 Pro is launched within a month, but it could come with an update that softens the blow a bit.
The idea of price increase was recently discussed by Leaker Instant Digital on the Chinese Weibo social media site. There, Instant Digital said with some certainty that the iPhone 17 Pro would be $ 50 more expensive than the current iPhone 16 Pro, which has its price at $ 1,049.
It is not yet clear if this rumored price increase will be global or only in the United States. The source also did not mention whether the price of entry level 17 would also change north, but it is an idea that the Wall Street Journal has reported separately.
If it is correct, it is a disappointing development, although not exactly unexpected. The commercial tariffs of the president of the United States, Donald Trump, have increased operational costs for almost all companies affected by them, and in many cases that are transmitted to the consumer. The best iPhones offer some leading characteristics in the market, but an area where they have fallen behind their rivals is internal storage.
