- Samsung Galaxy S25 series could come with fault detection
- Other rumors point to a free year of Gemini Advanced
- Official information on the S25 line is expected this month
It’s 2025, and as such, the Samsung Galaxy S25 series feels closer than ever – we expect to hear official news on the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra in the coming weeks.
We’ve already seen and reported on the latest rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S25 specs, camera rumors and rumored colors for each of the models, but a new series of leaks point to Samsung taking some inspiration from the Google Pixel 9 Pro when it comes to software.
One of these rumored new features is crash detection, which is already supported on both the Google Pixel 9 series and the iPhone 16 line. As Android Authority discovered when digging into Samsung’s code, references to crash detection were found. flaws in leaked files from the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
However, as Android Headlines points out, there has been a dedicated crash detection app within OneUI since version 5.1.1, although Samsung has never enabled it.
Accident detection on the Galaxy is likely to work similarly to the feature’s implementation on the iPhone and Pixel, using sensor readings and potentially AI to detect a car accident and subsequently allowing the user to call emergency services with a single tap or swipe.
Speaking of AI, the Samsung Galaxy S25 lineup could come with a free 12-month trial of Google Gemini Advanced, according to another rumor reported by Android Authority.
Although we wouldn’t expect the AI used in crash detection to have a paywall, some AI features in Google’s suite remain behind the Google One AI Premium plan, which typically costs $19.99/£18.99/ AU$30 per month.
Gemini Advanced gives users access to Gemini’s Pro model, which the company says is better at logical reasoning, as well as the latest experimental model that is better suited for coding and math.
In addition to Gemini, Samsung equips its phones with its own set of Galaxy AI tools; We may see some new additions to our list of best AI phones once the S25 series launches.
In Cupertino, it is suspected that Apple is also taking inspiration from Google, with rumors suggesting that the iPhone 17 could come equipped with a Pixel-style camera bar instead of the usual square casing.
