- The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra could be much thinner than the iPhone 17 pro max
- However, not all sources agree in how thick Samsung will be
- Samsung’s next flagship could also have more ram than its predecessor, among other changes in specifications
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra and the iPhone 17 Pro Max are possibly two of the next most anticipated phone releases, but although both will surely excel in most areas, the Galaxy S26 Ultra can have the advantage at least in one way.
According to @universeice, a filter with a good history, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will be less than 8 mm thick, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have 8.76 mm thick.
We have heard approximately that thickness for the iPhone 17 Pro Max before, with another source that says it will have a thickness of 8.75 mm, but this is the first one we hear from the samsung galaxy s26 ultra ultra thickness.
The designs of iPhone16 Pro Max and Galaxy S25 Ultra are the closest at this time, and their length, wide and thickness are basically the same. However, iPhone17 Pro Max and Galaxy S26 Ultra will be the beginning of two completely different designs. The thickness of the iPhone 17 …July 6, 2025
If this last leak is correct, then the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will be significantly thinner than the iPhone 17 Pro Max, and, as the source points out, this could also be a sign of divergent design philosophies for these two brands, such as while the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and the iPhone 16 Pro Max are almost identically thick, at 8.2 mm and 8.3 mm, respectively. This change would see Samsung thinned for his flagship, while Apple goes in the opposite direction.
This source also states that the difference in weight between these phones will be even greater, although they do not specify how much each phone will weigh.
However, although the source of this leak has a good history, we would take it with a pinch of salt, especially because another leakage of Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Specs suggests that the phone will have 8.1 mm thick.
This comes from leaker @pandaflashpro (through notebookcck), and although they do not have a history as important as @universeice, they have correctly leaked Samsung’s information in the past.
A new chipset and more RAM
This is not the only Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Detail @pandaflashPro filtered, since they also claim that it will have a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset, and a similar 6.9 -inch screen to the current model, only with different bevels (presumably smaller).
In addition, they affirm that the number and design of the camera lenses will continue to be the same, only without the large camera rings found in the Ultra S25, and that once again there will be a main 200MP camera, but that this will pack a new lens.
Apparently, there will also be an ultra 50MP camera, a 50MP 5X teleobjective and a 3X teleobjective lens that may or may not have a new sensor.
In the case of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, the 3X teleobjective has a 10MP sensor, but supposedly the company has not decided whether to replace this or not. However, the front camera will apparently improve, with new features such as 4K 120 FPS of video recording in slow motion.
@Pandaflashpro also states that the storage will remain unchanged, with 256 GB, 512GB and 1 TB configurations that will be offered, and it is said that all these come with 16 GB of RAM, while in the case of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, they come with 12 GB.
Other specific specifications include a larger 20% steam chamber and the return of a 5,000 mAh battery with 45 w wired load. As with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, it is also said that it admits the magnetic wireless load Qi2, but only with the addition of a magnetic box.
But with the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, it is not likely to land until the beginning of next year, we would take all this with a pinch of salt, since it is still very early for leaks and rumors. However, before that, we wait for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, which will probably land on July 9.
