Islamabad:
The Senate Functional Committee of Human Rights deepened the growing trend of drug use between students and the steps taken by the relevant departments for the prevention of this threat.
The meeting was chaired by Senator Samina Mumtaz Zehri. The ANF officials said about the instructions of the Prime Minister who had initiated the drug awareness campaign in the 237 universities throughout the country in February 2024.
In Pakistan, around 170 million students between 18 and 31 were vulnerable to drugs due to the country’s geographical proximity. In this campaign, and discovered 31 drug traffickers together with 140 kg of drugs seized in 235 universities.
