Senator Faisal Vawda has strongly criticized an officer of “Officer of the Federal Income Board (FBR) about the public’s abuse” and demanded the immediate dismissal of the officer, not the suspension.
The senator’s reaction occurred in viral videos making rounds in social networks that represent an official in the Karachi Transit Police uniform that intercepted an unregistered vehicle with the FBR logo and without registration.
In a Tweet shared in X, Vawda expressed his disappointment that “neither the prime minister, nor the Minister of Finance, nor the president of FBR had still taken measures against the official.” He pointed out that he had maintained strong labor relations with them for the progress of the country.
“It must become clear that the suspension is not enough. This officer, who behaves like a tyrant with the same audience he is paid for serving, must be fired from the service,” said the senator, calling such behavior “unacceptable under any circumstance.”

He also warned that if the dismissal procedures did not begin before his return to Pakistan, he would raise the matter in the Senate Finance Committee, where he is a member, and summon the officer for responsibility.
The Tweet occurred after a video circulated on social networks that show the Karachi traffic police stopping an unregistered vehicle with an FBR logo and without registration.
During the meeting, the driver lost his stirrups and behaved inappropriately with traffic officers.
Previously, FBR decided to buy 1,010 new vehicles worth more than 6 billion rupees. According to official documents, FBR had issued a letter of intent to a company for the acquisition, which was planned in two phases.
An early payment of RS 3B would be made for the first lot of 500 vehicles, which covered the total cost of that phase.
The remaining payment had to be made after the delivery of the first lot.
The delivery of the 1,010 vehicles was scheduled between January and May 2025.
