The superstar of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani, could be a global baseball icon, but not in the eyes of a player of the small world league series.
Monica Arcuri of Australia revealed an interaction with Ohtani that led her to believe that “it is not really humble.”
Arcuri appeared in the “Sunday Night Baseball” Kidscast of ESPN during the New York Mets Mets game, Sunday in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the host city of the World Call Series. During his interview, Brisbane’s native described attending a game of Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim in 2023.

During that game, Ohtani, then still a member of the Angels, haunted in the opener of the Toronto Blue Jays, Yusei Kikuchi.
“He hit a homer towards an area where fans could not go, and then this guy got the ball and gave it to my brother,” Arcuri explained in the transmission. “Then, the next day we went to the VIP box on the front, and I asked [Ohtani’s] Sign, but everything he gave me was a side eye and not a pleasant look.

“So, after that, I have never liked it since then. It’s not really humble. It’s not my style.”
That season was Ohtani’s last in an angelin uniform before Dodgers got into a 10 -year record and $ 700 million record, although $ 680 million were deferred.
Ohtani’s first season with the Dodgers ended with an NL MVP award and a World Series ring after defeating the New York Yankees in five games in the “Autumn Classic”.

However, Ohtani has faced controversies out of the field since last season.
First, his former interpreter, Ipei Mizuhara, was imprisoned for stealing almost $ 17 million of the Japanese star to pay the game debts.
Ohtani went publicly to the scandal at the end of March before the start of his inaugural season of the Dodgers, saying that he had never put a sports bet and that Mizuhara’s story about paying his game debt of $ 4.5 million was manufactured.
More recently, Ohtani and his agent, Nez Balelo, reached the holders after being sued by an investor and real estate corridor of Hawaii for allegedly causing his dismissal of a luxury housing development of $ 240 million.
