The Solana Seeker phone fixes saga defects with the update of usability

The Solana Seeker phone is not its average smartphone, nor does it want to be. On the basis of the lessons of its predecessor, the saga, the newest device of Solana Mobile reinvents what can be a native cryptographic phone. Smaller, lighter and with a more durable battery compared to its predecessor, the SEEKER aims to improve the user experience while the mobile cryptographic usability is doubled first.

Outside the box, it is clear to whom this device is: active solar users who regularly perform transactions in the chain in the chain, with the design focusing on all Crypto-Firs. With 150,000 pre-ordered phones from more than 50 countries, and a price of $ 500, the search engine wants to bring to the participants of the Solana ecosystem the ability to perform transactions on the march in seconds.

If you are someone who uses solana, the search engine could feel that it was built specifically for you. However, this phone is not intended for the informal encryption user.

“If you are someone who performs transactions at least once a week, frankly, then you are not possible to be full of Power user, but at least you are a user of regular enough that makes sense,” said Emmett Hollyer, general manager of Solana Mobile, for Coendesk in an interview.

One of the greatest criticisms of the saga was that it went too far to focus on the security aspect at the expense of ease of use. “We learned that we were so focused on building a safe experience the first time we left our own path with usability,” said Hollyer.

Security is still there; Each device acts as a wallet that is always in the chain, but the transaction signature process has been significantly simplified. Now, with a single click and a digital fingerprint verification, a user can approve a transaction, marking a notable change of the multiple saga required, which makes trade feel much more natural.

Budget

According to a slide platform shared by Solana Mobile, the Seeker phone comes with 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB for storage, a 6.36 -inch screen and a 4500 mAh battery, which should be enough to place it between an iPhone 16 of Apple and iPhone 16 Plus on paper in terms of size.

It uses a mediatek dimensity 7300 Octa-Core processor, which is somewhat less powerful than an flagship phone from Apple or Samsung, but is largely in line with exynos 1580, the chip that drives the A56 smart phone of Samsung average range. The phone runs on Android 15.

The device also has four cameras; Three on the back (main camera of 108 megapixels with optical image stabilization, a 50 MP telephoto sensor and an ultra width of 13 MP) and one in the front (32 MP).

Seed vault wallet, identification, token

In the center of the search engine is the seed vault, which protects its private cryptography keys with encryption and biometric access. On the upper part of that is the seed wallet of Solana Mobile seeds, which is integrated with the seed vault and acts as Apple Pay, which allows users to approve and verify their transactions. And like Apple Pay, it has a touching function to pay.

“He does everything that makes a regular cryptographic wallet, including him, allows him to connect [decentralized applications] DAPPS and access their funds anywhere. It has just been built more mobile, directly on the phone and the DAPPs that are in our store, ”added Hollyer.

The wallet admits all the main DAPPs of Solana, and comes with a phrase of recovery seeds, as well as other cold wallets. This continuity with the hardware cryptware experience guarantees that users keep Autocustody, even if they lose the device.

Beyond hardware, the phone is placed in a new type of digital identity. When configuring, each user receives a genesis token and a unique search engine, permanently linking the device to the user.

The phone will also have a unique token skr, a new token for the ecosystem that is not yet live. Although project developers have not yet shared many details on how the Token will work, the team wrote that “it will feed the economy, incentives and the property of the ecosystem.”

User experience

Although I am loyal to my iPhone, the search engine felt quite easy to navigate for those who are not accustomed to an Android device. Jumping from applications was perfect without a clumsy experience. The phone has capabilities to download conventional Google App Store applications, and can supposedly allow cell connection (this phone did not come with a SIM).

While I could not completely try mobile connectivity, the interface was surprisingly soft and receptive, without remarkable or uncomfortable delay. For anyone who doubts about the change of ecosystems, the Seeker offers a sufficiently familiar experience that will not make him feel lost.

Search season that will arrive this September

To make participants actively use the device, Mobile Solana is generating impulse through its search engine season, launching this September, which developers claim will bring exclusive features, early access and DAPPS benefits that participate in the Ecosystem of the DAPP Solana store.

“Every week, the new DAPP will introduce special experiences, early access and benefits that you will only find in the Solana DAPP store,” according to a slide platform shared by the equipment. These exclusive ones provide incentives for the early adoption of the phone.

At first, the sales of the original saga phone were slow, until cryptographic merchants discovered that each device came with a strong Bonk tokens air, which caused a hurry to buy the remaining units and turn the phone into a brief arbitration chance.

Solana’s search engine is an ambitious and reflective reinvention of what should be a cryptographic mobile experience. It is not just more compact and easy to use, it is designed to bring self -opposite to everyday life with minimal friction. Where Saga tried to try a point, Seeker invites users to participate.
