Ncuti Gatwa has opened about his departure from Doctor Who.
As reported by IndependentGatwa issued a statement about his departure from the second season on May 31.
He said: “You know when you choose, at some point, you will have to return that sonic screwdriver and everything will come to an end, but nothing prepares you for it.”
Speaking of his trip in the program, Gatwa said: “This trip has been one that I will never forget and a role that will be part of me forever. There are no words to describe what it feels like to be chosen as the doctor, there are nor words to explain what it feels like to be accepted in this iconic role that has existed for more than 60 years and is really loved by so many throughout the world.”
“Fans are really the final character and the heart of this show and I can’t thank Whoniverse, and the Whoavians, enough to welcome me, and make this trading experience.”
“I loved every minute, but now it is time to deliver the keys of that beloved blue box and let someone else take control and enjoy it as much as I will miss it, and I will always be grateful, and all those who have played a role on my trip as a doctor,” the actor added.
It is worth mentioning that Ncuti Gatwa comes in the final scene when Time Lord regenerates in Billie Piper, who apparently plays his old woman Doctor Who Rose Tyler character.
