Los Angeles Dodgers, Shohei Ohtani, played captures on Tuesday in a continuation of his launch program on his return of elbow surgery.
Ohtani joined the Dodgers on Sunday after his wife, Mamiko Tanaka, gave birth to the first son of the couple in southern California. The two-way star was 0 by 3 with a walk in the 1-0 victory of the Dodgers in Texas.
After a free day, Ohtani, 30, threw the garden in Wrigley Field before the first game of two games against the Chicago puppies. It is expected to have a light bullpen session on Wednesday and a “complete bullpen” on Saturday, said Manager Dave Roberts.
“I still don’t know what the next step is,” Roberts said, “and I think once he begins to face the batters, he will begin to be more pronounced. But at this time he is still in the way of throwing Bullpens, and has not yet launched sliding controls.”
Ohtani has not launched in a major league game since August 23, 2023, for Los Angeles de Los Angeles. He is recovering from the right -elbow surgery on September 19, 2023. He paused in his launch work after a mound session on February 25 to prepare for the opening day as a hitter.
The reigning MVP of the National League, which signed a $ 700 million contract, 10 years with the Dodgers in December 2023, is hitting .277 with six homers and eight races promoted in the series in Chicago.
The left -handed Blake Snell also played caught on Tuesday, and Roberts said he went well. Snell is on the 15 -day injury list due to shoulder inflammation.
Tyler Glasnow remains on his way to starting Sunday at home against Pittsburgh. The 31 -year law left Sunday against the Rangers due to cramps at the bottom of the legs.
“I have not seen Glas, but from training staff, they said there are no more cramps,” Roberts said. “While we were traveling here to Chicago, it was fine.”
