We are only a few days eliminated from the MLB Opening Day, but the Star Trend of the Star of Boston Red Rafael Devers is already raising some concerns.
The designated batter of the Red Sox made 12 appearances on the plate in the first three games of the Boston season. While he could not register a success during any of those bats to bat, his 10 strikeouts made a fairly unfortunate story.

That volume of strikeouts represented an unprecedented rate in the first three games of any registered MLB season, said USA Today.

The struggles of the early regular season of Devers are found immediately after a tense spring training. During the exhibition period, the manager of the Red Sox Alex Cora and Devers seemed to disagree on whether it would spend time in the baseball diamond that covers the third base.
Shortly before the opening day, Cora confirmed that Devers would handle the designated batter tasks of the full -time team.

The Red Sox season has been less than ideal so far, although only in just four games. The 2025 campaign had a promising start when Boston celebrated a 5-2 season opening victory over the Texas Rangers.
However, the red socks proceeded to leave their next three games, falling to 1-3 in the young season.

The former baseball director of the Red Sox, Chaim Bloom, previously described Devers as a star, and the franchise is paying him as one. Devers signed a contract with the Red Sox worth $ 313.5 million in January 2023, Espn reported.
It ended last season with 28 homers and had an average bat of .272.
