The Phoenix Suns fired Mike Budenholzer on Monday after just one season, the team announced.
ESPN first reported the movement.
“Competing at the highest level remains our goal, and we fail to meet expectations this season. Our fans deserve better. Change is needed,” said the team.

Phoenix made great movements in recent seasons in an attempt to return to the image of the NBA championship. He began with the acquisition of Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets, and was followed by Bradley Beal’s trade in the Washington Wizards.
Durant finished his second full season with the Suns and Beal finished his second season in Phoenix. The Suns had 36-46 and the playoffs were lost for the first time in four seasons.

Budenholzer came from the Milwaukee Bucks after its shocking game. He trained the Bucks for a victory for the NBA title over the Suns.
Phoenix will now enter a low season full of uncertainty and his cunning movements have become counterproductive. The Suns first round selection was exchanged with the Houston Rockets, who will have the opportunity to have a lottery team despite being one of the best teams in the West Conference.

The Suns have not done the conference championship since 2021. They have let three coaches go in three years.
