The Pakistan Supreme Court has updated its seniority list after the oath take of seven newly high judges.
The names and profiles of these judges have been published on the official website of the Supreme Court, said Express News.
According to the updated seniority list, the justice of the justice of Pakistan, Yahya Afridi, is followed by Judge Mansoor Ali Shah.
Judge Muneeb Akhtar is placed second in the row, followed by Judge Amenuddin Khan and Judge Jamal Commandkhel, respectively.
The list continues to appoint Judge Mohammad Ali Mazhar, Judge Ayesha Malik, Judge Athar Minallah, Judge Hassan Azhar Rizvi, Judge Shahid Waheed and Judge Musarath Hilali.
Other notable tickets include Judge Irfan Saadat, Judge Naeem Akhtar Afghan, Judge Shehzad Malik, Judge Aqeel Abbasi, Judge Shahid Bilal Hassan, Judge Hashim Kakar and Judge Shafi Siddiqui.
The updated list reflects the recent changes in the composition of the main judicial agency of Pakistan, with many new appointments in force.
Today early, the president of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Yahya Afridi, administered the oath of the position to six newly appointed judges of the Supreme Court.
The new judges include Hashim Khan Kakar, former Judge Justice of the Superior Court of Baluchistan (BHC); Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui, former president of the Superior Court of Sindh (SHC); Ishtiaq Ibrahim, former president of the Superior Court of Peshawar (PHC) and Aamer Farooq, former justice of the Superior Court of Islamabad (IHC).
Judge SHC Salahuddin Panhwar and PHC Judge Shakeel Ahmed also brought oath as judges of the Supreme Court.
In addition, CJP Yahya Afridi administered the oath to Judge Mian Gul Hassan Aurengzeb as an interim judge of the Apex court.
The ceremony was attended by judges of the Supreme Court, the Attorney General, the main lawyers, the journalists, the judicial staff, as well as the officers of the Bar Association of the Supreme Court and the Pakistan Bar Association.
These judges were nominated Monday at a meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) that was boycotted by two SC judges, as well as two members of the opposition party.
The JCP of 13 members, headed by the president of the Supreme Court Yahya Afridi, met to consider the nominations for the appointments of the Supreme Court. According to a statement on the website of the Supreme Court, the nominations were approved by a majority vote.
