The star of female tennis Yulia Putintseva reacted on Monday after her dispute with Maria Sakkari at Bad Hicurg Open went viral on social networks during the weekend.
Sakkari seemed to disagree with how Putseva shook her hand after her party. The Greek tennis star won the game about Putintseva 7-5 7-6 (6). The transmission caught Sakkari taking a step to the Putintseva side to exchange words with her. Putintseva published the clip on his Instagram account on Monday and offered his own words.
“By the way, it is not that I care, I shaken my hand as most women do,” Putintseva wrote. “Clearly not according to the ‘hug protocol’ that some men seem to follow.”

Sakkari went to the incident in his interview after the game after Putintseva walked to the locker room.
“I don’t think he invites me to have dinner for the rest of our lives, but I don’t care, to be honest,” he said, through Tennis.com. “I have very good friends, and I will go to dinner with them. Let me leave it here, and just say that I respect her as a player, but that’s all.”
