The thieves broke into the farm of Pakistani Kamran Crickets and the father of Umar Akmal in Lahore, stealing newly installed solar panels for the value of RS500,000 in broad daylight.
According to the police, the incident took place in the jurisdiction of the Heyr Police Station, where the unidentified suspects broke the blockade of the main door and entered the property.
They eliminated and stole the solar panels before fleeing from the scene.
The victim, father of the former Wicktkeepers of Pakistan, said the solar system had been installed only one day before. “We put it yesterday, and today the thieves took it away,” he told local media.
The police arrived at the farm shortly after the incident was reported. The authorities said that CCTV and other tests were being used to identify the culprits.
SP Cantonment Owais Shafiq confirmed that a case had been registered against unknown suspects about the complaint of the farm coach, Kashif Mahmood.
He added that the officers had been directed to track and arrest the thieves as soon as possible.
