- Researchers were able to access a github site plan now eliminated
- The site showed plans for an AI website for the United States government.
- Apparently, it will also contain a chatbot and implementation tools
A seemingly filtered github page has revealed that the Trump administration is working on a website called AI.gov, which will be launched on July 4 with the aim of trying to “accelerate government innovation with AI”
The site was discovered by 404Media Researchers after an early version of the website was published in Github by the General Services Administration (GSA), The registration information.
Now retired, the page was aimed at serving as a center for government agencies to allow the integration of AI in its processes.
Technical spending
The GSA department responsible for the website seems to be the technology transformation service (TTS).
Directed by Thomas Shedd, a nearby associate of Elon Musk, the TTS will apparently launch the AI website with three key components; A chatbot, an API “Everything in one” that allows connections between existing systems and the AI models of Anthrope, Google or Openai, and ‘Console’, an “innovative tool to analyze the implementation of the entire agency”, according to the page.
The initial staging site suggests that the AI.gov site will serve the AI models through Amazon Bedrock, and most of the models that appear in the API documentation on the GitHub page are certified by FEDRAMP for the use of the government, the researchers confirmed.
However, they point out that an identified and listed model of the company of the COHER is not certified by Fedramp.
The fact that the United States Government plans to take advantage of AI or increase its connections with AI companies will probably not be a big surprise to anyone, with the Trump administration, strongly pressing the adoption of the generalized government.
At the beginning of 2025 it was announced that the IRS could use AI to replace the fired workers after mass layoffs at the efficiency department of the Elon Musk government.
According to reports, other departments such as SEC and VA are preparing for ‘restructuring’, since the department investigated whether IA can be used to replace human workers in a variety of government departments.
