The Turkish consulate in collaboration with the schools and universities of Pak-Turk Maarif organized a series of events in Karachi on the occasion of national sovereignty and child’s day, and the 105th anniversary of the opening of the great National Assembly Turkey, a statement said on Saturday.
Going to the event, the Turkish consul in Karachi, Cemal Sangu said Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of Modern Turkiye, decided to celebrate on April 23 as a vacation in 1924, the only universal party dedicated to children.
With the 1979 UNESCO statement as the “World Year of Children”, these vacations are celebrated with great enthusiasm and emotion along with the children of the world, he added.
