The Turkish president begins to visit Pakistan with Guard of Honor in PM House

Islamabad: Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, received an honor guard at the home of the prime minister upon arrival in Pakistan in an official visit on Thursday.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly received the Turkish leader, who is on a two -day visit to Pakistan, and the first lady Emine Erdogan, with a formal greeting in his honor. The national hymns of both countries were played as part of the welcome ceremony.

The prime minister also presented the Turkish President to the members of the Federal Cabinet. Prime Minister Shehbaz also met the members of the Erdogan Cabinet, who were also present on the occasion.

Later, the head of the Army staff, the general also Munir, also met with Erdogan and extended greetings on his visit. The Turkish president was also honored with a Flypast for F-16 combat aircraft.

Erdogan, accompanied by the first lady and a delegation of investors and business leaders, landed at Noor Khan Airbase last night.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz welcomed him personally at the airport. As part of the ceremonial reception, there was a greeting of 21 cannons to the distinguished guest.

Your visit includes high -level commitments aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Türkiye.

During his visit, the Turkish President Co-President the Seventh Meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council of Pakistan-Turkiye (HLSCC) together with Prime Minister Shehbaz.

The meeting will conclude with a joint statement, and several key agreements and comprehension memorandes (MOU) are expected to be signed. The two leaders will also go to a joint press conference.

In addition, President Erdogan will hold separate meetings with Prime Minister and President Zardari.

He is also ready to speak in the Pakistan-Turkiye Business and Investment Forum, which will be attended by main investors, companies and commercial figures from both countries.

The HLSCC is the highest decision -making platform between Pakistan and Türkiye, which provides a strategic direction to bilateral relations.

So far, six HLSCC meetings have been held, and the last one takes place in Islamabad from February 13 to 14, 2020.
