The United Nations Security Council has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Baluchistan, which resulted in the tragic death of at least seven Pakistani, including five schoolchildren. At least another 52, including 38 children, were injured in the attack.
In response to the attack, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa police have intensified the security in schools throughout the province.
The Department of Education has been formally alerted, with a directive issued to district education officials to improve security measures in all educational institutions.
In a press release, the Security Council expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the victims, as well as the Pakistani government and people. The Council also wanted a rapid recovery for the injured.
The Council reaffirmed that terrorism in all forms raises a severe threat to international peace and security. He requested the responsibility of the perpetrators, organizers, financial and sponsors of such attacks, urging the states to cooperate with Pakistan to take the responsible parties before justice.
The statement reiterated that terrorism is unjustifiable, regardless of the reason, and emphasized the need for all countries to fight terrorism through all available means, according to international law.

The Pakistan Human Rights Commission (HRCP) also condemned the terrorist attack against a school bus in Khuzdar, qualifying it as a violation of basic human rights and international law.

The HCRP emphasized the need for the State to address the problems in Baluchistan through political dialogue and legal measures instead of violent responses, while urging the identification and prosecution of those responsible for the attack.
International reactions included strong sentences from the United States and China. The United States Embassy in Islamabad expressed sadness for the murder of innocent children, emphasizing that no child should fear going to school.

Chinese ambassador Jiang Zaidong also condemned the attack and reiterated China’s support for Pakistan to counteract terrorism and guarantee social stability.
Khuzdar school bus attack
The alleged bomber embarked on a vehicle loaded with explosives on the school bus while passing beyond Zero Point near the Rakhshan hotel, said the attached commissioner Yasir Iqbal Dashti, and added that the bus was transporting students to the public school of the army located inside the Khuzdar canton. The vehicle was manipulated with more than 30 kilograms of explosives, according to the pump removal equipment.

The wing of the military media declared that “three innocent children and two adults have embraced Shahadat” and several children have suffered injuries in the “cowardly and frightened attack planned and orchestrated by the terrorist state of India and executed by their representatives in Baluchistan.
The ISPR added that India has unleashed its representatives to disseminate terror and disturbances in Baluchistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa through such atrocious and cowardly acts after failing miserably on the battlefield.
Shortly after the deadly attack, the security forces cordoned off the area and launched an investigation. Security hardened in Khuzdar and its surroundings after bombing, with established control points and patrols intensified to avoid more attacks.
