The British Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, praised Pakistan and India for deactivating tensions and accepting a high fire during meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Vice Prime Minister Ishaq give in his official visit to Islamabad, while stating that “the conflict does not serve the interest.”

Highlighting the unwavering resolution of Pakistan to defend his sovereignty and territorial integrity at all costs, Prime Minister Sharif underlined the lasting desire of the country’s peace in southern Asia. He also extended his best wishes to His Majesty King Carlos III and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer.

This marks the first visit of a British Foreign Secretary for Pakistan since 2021. A statement from the British High Commission in Islamabad said Lammy welcomed the fire, underlineing that peace and security form the basis of the United Kingdom’s relationship with Pakistan.
Highlighting the importance of regional stability, Lammy praised efforts to end the hostility of long data between Pakistan and India, calling for “anguishing” last weeks.
“The last weeks have been difficult for the British Pakistani and British Indians equally. We welcome the fire between the British Pakistanis and British Indians,” he added.
Referring to augmented tensions after Pahalgam’s incident, he said that the United Kingdom had done everything possible to reduce the situation. “Both India and Pakistan have agreed to stop hostilities, and the high fire remains in place.”
By reaffirming the United Kingdom’s commitment to anti -terrorism efforts and guaranteeing the continuation of the fire, Lammy highlighted the long -standing cooperation between the United Kingdom and Pakistan to promote regional peace and stability.
Previously, DPM Dar met with Lammy in Islamabad, warmly welcoming the high fire agreement between India and Pakistan, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Give extended a cordial welcome to Lammy on his first official visit to Pakistan. The two leaders maintained detailed discussions on recent developments in southern Asia, with a particular approach in the Alto El Fuego de Pakistan -india.

The meeting also addressed bilateral relations, with both parties expressing satisfaction on progress in trade, economic cooperation and development associations. He praised the valuable support of the United Kingdom in the fields of education, medical care and climatic resilience.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to improve cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including climate change and sustainable development.
They reiterated their resolution to strengthen historical and long data ties between Pakistan and the United Kingdom, based on mutual respect, shared values and strong people connections to people.
