The United Kingdom has officially introduced digital Evisas for Pakistani students and workers, marking a significant step towards a modernized and simplified immigration process.
As of July 15, 2025, the majority of the main applicants requesting studies from the United Kingdom or visas related to work will no longer require a physical sticker visa in their passports.
Instead, they will be issued a digital record of their immigration status, known as Evisa.
An Evisa is an online confirmation of the permission of an individual to enter, stay or work in the United Kingdom. It also describes any condition attached to its immigration state.
This digital state can be accessed and administered through an in -line account of visas and immigration of the United Kingdom (UKVI).
The change does not affect the state of immigration of an individual or the conditions of their stay, but represents a change in the way in which this information is stored and shared.
According to the high British commission in Islamabad, the EVISA system aims to make the visa process safer, efficient and easy to use.
The high British commissioner Jane Marriott CMG OBE emphasized the convenience of the new system, stating that the transition to EVIS would simplify the process for Pakistani students and professionals. “These changes in the visa system of the United Kingdom will make it much simpler for students and workers to try their identity and visa state. It also means that applicants can resist their passports, saving them time,” he said.
The deployment is applied to a wide range of visa categories. These include students, both for a long -term study of up to 11 months, together with people requesting under the global business mobility routes, such as senior or specialized workers, postgraduate apprentices and second workers.
Other eligible categories include global talent, international athletes, qualified workers (including those of the health and care sector), several temporary work routes and applicants under the youth mobility scheme.
EVISA holders will be able to link their travel documents, such as passports, with their UKVI accounts to allow softer international trips.
Through the ‘See and Try’ service, people can safely share their immigration status with employers, owners or other authorized entities, particularly in England.
However, not all Visa applicants will receive an EVISA at this stage. Those who apply as dependents or in visa categories not related to work or study, such as general visitors visas, will still be issued a physical sticker visa.
Similarly, people who already have valid physical visas decadies do not need to take any measure, since their existing documents remain valid.
This is part of a gradual approach to the United Kingdom central office to completely digitize your immigration system. The objective is to eventually replace all physical immigration documents with safe and accessible digital records.
The transition to Evisas is aligned with global trends in immigration management and reflects the United Kingdom’s commitment to use technology to improve customer experience for visa applicants worldwide.
