The United States has approved a help assistance package for Pakistan following the recent devastating floods, marking the first international aid initiative under the Trump administration, Pakistan state television reported.
According to the United States Department of State, financing will provide food, shelters and other emergency support in flood affected regions. The United States government said it would work in coordination with the Pakistani authorities and trustworthy humanitarian organizations to deliver the aid.
The US Central Command has already sent an initial shipment of emergency supplies. Jeremy Levin, a senior state department official who supervises foreign assistance and humanitarian issues, said Washington moved quickly to respond.
“In just 72 hours, American aid teams were deployed, a new assistance was organized and essential military supplies were sent to Pakistan,” Levin said.
The first foreign assistance in the United States is efficient, limited in time and closely directed. In 72 hours, we display disaster response personnel, we help more than 300,000 people and coordinate the critical aid deliveries to help our nearby ally, Pakistan.

Bethany Morrison, another senior state department official, said Washington recognized the disaster scale and its tolls in civilians.
“The United States includes the impact of such disasters and is committed to providing assistance to save lives, including food and shelter, for the people of Pakistan,” said Morrison.
According to the American Broadcasting Company (ABC), the State Department said in a press release that Washington was with Pakistanis affected by the disaster. “The United States meets the people of Pakistan, whose lives have been uprooted by catastrophic and extended floods.
On September 5, the United States Department of State approved a monetary response to deliver food, shelters and other forms of disaster relief that save lives to impacted communities, ”reads the statement.
A state department spokesman added that the aid would be delivered in association with the Pakistani authorities and the humanitarian groups. “We are prepared to coordinate with the Pakistan government and reliable help organizations in the field to provide help to the most affected areas,” said the spokesman.
The department has not revealed the amount of funds committed to the recovery effort.
Jeremy Lewin framed the measure as part of the broader aid strategy of the Trump administration. “Our rapid support for the nearby ally of the United States, Pakistan, offers another example of the efficiency and effectiveness of the new integrated abilities of integrated foreign assistance from the State Department,” Lewin told ABC News.

Last week, the United States has sent humanitarian aid to Pakistan to help those affected by flood floods throughout the country.
