The United States Embassy in Islamabad has strongly condemned the terrorist attack against the Jaffar Express train in Baluchistan, expressing sympathy and condolences for the victims of the “horrible act.”

The attack, made by armed men on Tuesday afternoon, occurred in a remote mountainous area of ​​the province of Baluchistan and was immediately claimed by the Baloch Liberation Army (Bla).

The assailants forced the train to stop and take hundreds of passengers as hostages. Security sources report that at least 30 terrorists were killed and 190 passengers were rescued as the security operations against the attackers continued for the second day on Wednesday.

“We firmly condemn the attack on the Jaffar Express train, and the hostage of passengers in Kacchi, Baluchistan, claimed by the Balach Liberation Army, a global terrorist group designated specifically by the United States,” said the United States embassy in a statement published in X.

“We extend our deepest sympathies and condolences to the victims, their families and all those affected by this horrible act. The Pakistani people deserve to live free of violence and fear. The United States will continue to be a firm partner of Pakistan in its efforts to guarantee the safety of all its citizens. We sympathize with Pakistan during this difficult time, ”he added.

In a separate statement, China also condemned the terrorist attack. The spokesman of the Foreign Ministry of China, Mao NO, expressed the firm opposition of Beijing to terrorism in all its forms, reaffirming China’s support to Pakistan to combat terrorism and guarantee the safety of its citizens.

“We strongly condemn this terrorist attack. China firmly opposes terrorism in any way. We will continue to support Pakistan firmly in the fight against terrorism, maintaining solidarity and social stability, and protecting people’s safety, ”said Mao NO during a regular press conference on Wednesday.
