USA VOLLEYBALL (USAV) has become the last organization in changing its gender eligibility policy to align with President Donald TrumpThe Executive Order of the ‘Executive Order aimed to prohibit transgender athletes in sports of girls and women.
The last policy change, which takes effect immediately, establishes that all USAV members “are expected to participate or compete in all events or activities sanctioned by Usav as a member of the genre assigned to the time of birth in their birth certificate.”

“As a federal organization, we have the obligation to meet federal expectations,” wrote the CEO of Usopc Sarah Hirshland and President Gene Sykes in a letter. “Our revised policy emphasizes the importance of guaranteeing fair and safe competition environments for women. All national government bodies must update their applicable policies in alignment.”

This list of requirements included informing USAV at least six weeks before the competition, a statement “that wishes to compete in the genre opposed to that of their birth”, another statement of a treating doctor, including medical records and laboratory reports of testosterone levels for any athlete over 13 years.

The new policy change strictly limits athletes to the competitions that are aligned with the genre in its original birth certificate. It will apply to all events sanctioned by Usav in the US.
