The Urdu version of the praised game reaches the capital

The Chand Nagar Cultural Center is proud to announce the first Pakistani adaptation of a playing play of the Pulitzer Award, “Doubt: A Parable”, which will be held on July 26 and 27 at the Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai Auditorium in Islamabad.

This production is the URDU translation of John Patrick Shanley’s work, translated by Imran Iffikhar and Adil Yousaf theater director. Iftikhar expressed his emotion and gratitude, for receiving permission to adapt and organize this masterpiece. “I am sharing this news with immense pride and gratitude that John Patrick Shanley has formally awarded the permit, the winning screenwriter of the award and winner of the Academy winning the Pulitzer Award, to translate, adapt and organize his work theater work, doubt: a parable, for the Islamabad audience in Urdu,” he shared.

The work, “Doubt: A Parable”, was written by the American playwright John Patrick Shanley in 2004. It was adapted to a mysterious thriller movie entitled “Doubt” in 2008, starring the famous Hollywood actress, Meryl Streep. The film received critical acclamation and showed the powerful story and the themes of the work.

“Doubt: a parable” explores the complexities of human nature, deepening the issues of faith, doubt, power and morality. Located in a school of small towns in Punjab, the work raises questions about truth, silence and gray areas in the middle. With its suspense plot and shocking characters, this production promises to be a stimulating experience for the audience.

Imran Iftikhaha also added: “This is not only a mile region”. He hopes that “this production will open new doors for international theater in Pakistan and cause critical conversations about ethics, education and truth.”

The Chand Nagar Cultural Center is dedicated to telling bold, stimulating and relevant stories through theater and arts in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The work is translated into Urudu by Adil Yousaf, directed by Imran Iftikhar and presents a cast of young theater actors from twin cities. “Doubt: a parable” is being charged to life by the Chand Nagar Cultural Center, with the aim of creating a platform for significant narrative and cultural exchange.
