- Microsoft’s co -driver study states that the time schedule and productivity profits from the United Kingdom Government
- 20,000 public officials obtained access to co -pilot, with surprising results
- Time savings amounted to about two weeks per person per year
The use of AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot could help public officials save weeks of work over the course of a year, according to new government research.
The United Kingdom Government had 20,000 public officials in 12 different organizations that use Microsoft co -pilot over the course of several months, using the service to write documents, take meetings notes, find internal information and even customize the recommendations to the benefits of unemployed employment search engines.
The study claimed to find important increases in productivity and efficiency when using co -filter, with workers saving an average between 19 and 24 minutes per day, ascending to about two weeks per person per year.

The study, which took place from September 30 to December 31, 2024, says that these savings were the equivalent of giving 1,130 people a full year, which allows them to focus on tasks of greater value instead of work based on the administrator.
“These findings show that AI is not just a future promise, it is a current reality,” said Technology Secretary Peter Kyle.
“Whether helping to write documents, prepare lessons plans or reduce the routine administrator, AI tools are saving public officials time every day. That means we can focus more on providing faster and more personalized support where it really counts.”
The study also meant the largest co -driver deployment of Microsoft in the United Kingdom government to date, with workers using the platform in the tastes of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and equipment.
“The AI is the most transformative technology of our time and we are already seeing its potential to remodel the provision of public services,” said Darren Hardman, CEO of Microsoft UK.
“This could unlock new levels of growth, efficiency and innovation for the country. Microsoft 365’s co -driver experiment of the government shows what is possible when people are empowered with the right tools: 26 minutes per day (almost 2 weeks per year) less time in the administrator, more time delivering what matters. And the really exciting part is only the beginning.”
