The Mets open a series of three games with the Yankees on Friday night. The last edition of the Subway series will also mark Soto the first time competing in the Yankee Stadium since he hung his stripes. The broadcaster and host Michael Kay long data in the discussion. While Kay discouraged fans of participating in vulgar songs, he encouraged them to boo the former Yankees toleter.

“I am anticipating the reaction that Juan Soto will get at Yankees Stadium,” Kay said. “And I think the reaction, if I am a Yankees fan, would be constant boo of Juan Soto. Now, nothing profane. It shouldn’t be that. You should be ashamed of yourself if you say something like that.”

“Don’t be classless with the Bleep Juan Soto,” Kay added. “Be a little smarter than that. You can boo without using the word F. There will be children in the crowd! But make me feel how sore you feel. There is nothing wrong. Do not let anyone blame you that. I have heard that people say: ‘Show him that you are better than that.’ No, you are not better than that!

While Soto acknowledged the possibility that some fans could lead to the boos, it does not seem that potential anguish is cushioning the toleter’s emotion for returning to Yankee Stadium.

However, Kay suggested that many Yankees fans felt a feeling of betrayal when Soto screwed for the team’s crosstown rival.

“They feel betrayed, they feel as silent lovers,” Kay said. “If you feel that they betray you, then boo it. Open it every time it is close to the ball. Board every time there is a ball.

“I don’t care,” Soto told Atlético in reference to the possible Jeers.

Before the beginning of the regular season 2025, Soto admitted that he was “waiting for the worst” of the Yankees faithful when he finally visited the Bronx.

Soto finished his only season with the Yankees with 41 homers and an average batting of .288. The right gardener has hit eight homers in 43 games so far this season with the Mets.
