The Federal Petroleum Minister, Dr. Musadik Malik, has said that the way in which the country is executed, even a small retail store cannot be administered in this way.

Going to a ceremony held in relation to the 30th Annual Technical Conference and Show Oil in Islamabad on Tuesday, Minister Malik emphasized that there is a need for liberalization in government policies. He said: “The way we are directing the country, even a retail store cannot work in this way.”

Dr. Malik commented that administering business is not the government’s work and that issues must be delivered to the private sector.

He recognized the failure of the privatization of PIA (Pakistan International Airlines) and mentioned that the government is once again initiating the privatization process for the airline. He added that the approach should be to increase the dependence of national resources and move away from outdated and bureaucratic methods.

Dr. Musadik Malik said the government is looking for a multiple strategy for the development of the energy sector in the country.

That said, the fundamental pillars of the government strategy to advance in the energy sector are access to energy, the provision of affordable energy and the sustainability of energy.

The minister said that to achieve the objectives, the government is working on three fronts that include indigenization, electrification and liberalization.

He said that the main approach of the government is to reduce the cost of energy for the poor and is using local energy resources for this purpose. He said that the government is also working to reduce the dangerous impacts of energy in the environment.

Musadik Malik said that forty -thirty -one thirty and a coast block have been announced after a period of ten years, which is a great achievement.

He said that Pakistan is open for business and these blocks offer excellent investment opportunities for international investors to invest in Pakistan.

The oil minister explained that the government is currently working on three fronts in the energy sector.

These include working to provide access to energy to the entire population, guarantee affordable energy prices and improve energy sustainability.

He also mentioned the government approach in increasing local production, stating that “what will we do with the energy that the public cannot pay?”

He pointed out that simply bringing one or two machines will not bring prosperity and that sustainable development requires scientific research and autonomous work. Dr. Malik emphasized the importance of building national trust, saying that to progress,

Pakistan must go beyond a narrow mentality. He warned that if glaciers continue to melt rapidly, the country’s irrigation system will be destroyed. He stressed that any action taken should take into account the environmental impact.
